Manu Bhaker won the second successive gold medal in a mixed team event as India consolidated their position at the top in the ISSF World Cup in Guadalajara, Mexico. Manu partnered Om Prakash Mitharval clinched the 10 metre air pistol mixed team title. With this India's medal count stands at three gold and four bronze medals for a total of seven podium finishes.

The Ministry of Drinking Water and Sanitation, in association with the Government of Uttar Pradesh, is organizing a Women’s Convention – called Swachh Shakti 2018 on International Women’s Day on 8th March at Lucknow. Uttar Pradesh will be hosting Swachh Shakti 2018 as the largest State in the country. Swachh Shakti 2018 will provide momentum to the sanitation coverage in Uttar Pradesh.

Balkrishna Doshi, the legendary Indian architect is being honoured with the Pritzker Architecture Prize, the Nobel equivalent for the field. He is the 45th Pritzker laureate and the first from India. Kirar got the better of Malaysia's Zakaria Nadhirah 139-136 in the compound final. Madhu Vedwan and Gaurav Trambak Lambe also added to India's tally by winning bronze medals in the women's and the men's recurve events.

China's heavy-lift "Long March-5B carrier rocket", which is capable of carrying a payload of 25,000 kg in low earth orbit, will be launched into space in 2019. It will help carry the core module and experimental modules to China’s space station. The carrier rocket will undergo testing this month in preparation for the first launch mission.
