GES 2017 : Women First, Prosperity for All

GES is the preeminent annual entrepreneurship gathering that convenes emerging entrepreneurs, investors and supporters from around the world. GES 2017 will create an environment that empowers innovators, particularly women, to take their ideas to the next level. Through two and a half days of networking, mentoring, and workshops, GES empowers entrepreneurs to pitch their ideas, build partnerships, secure funding, innovate, and find their target customers -- creating new goods and services that will transform societies.

Global Entrepreneurship Summit (GES) has connected top entrepreneurship talent with investors and startup ecosystems across the globe to innovate the world’s most exciting solutions. The summit was attended by 1,500 entrepreneurs from 170 countries. In partnership with the Government of the United States of America, NITI Aayog is proud to host the eighth annual Global Entrepreneurship Summit in India from November 28-30, 2017 addressed by The Hon’ble Prime Minister of India, Shri Narendra Modi. The US delegation will be led by Ms. Ivanka Trump, Advisor to President Trump.

Since the inception of GES in 2010, it has traveled across the world from Washington D.C. to Istanbul, Dubai, Marrakech, Nairobi, Kuala Lumpur, Silicon Valley, and now finally Hyderabad!

Under the overarching theme of ‘Women First, Prosperity for All’, this year the summit will primarily focus on Energy & Infrastructure, Healthcare & Life Sciences, Financial Technology & Digital Economy, and Media & Entertainment sectors.

Investing in women entrepreneurs not only fuels economic growth, but also drives innovation to address the critical challenges communities are facing worldwide. Women leaders in entrepreneurship, innovation and investment also hold the key to fostering prosperous and dynamic societies.

Indigenously designed robot Mitra greeted Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Ivanka Trump and they inaugurated the Global Entrepreneurship Summit 2017 in Hyderabad by pressing a button. CEO of Invento Tech -- Balaji Viswanathan -- and his 14-mmember team deployed two bots at the Global Entrepreneurship Summit 2017. The 'Made in India' robot has been developed by a Bengaluru based company Invento Robotics, founded by Balaji Vishwanathan. Mitra is an ‘end-to-end’ India product. It provides contextual information to customers using a recommendations engine similar to what Facebook and Google use for their services. According to The Indian Express report, 'Mitra' is going to work on facial recognition technology to identify customers. The Company’s website also claims that the humanoid can become a photographer and a DJ and can live tweet from an event.
